Leadership Coaching for Strategic Performance

Tom utilizes a balanced business and behavioral coaching model which focuses on both the strategy and direction of the client's business area and their readiness for motivating and leading teams and individuals toward achieving results.

Coaching Approach and Services​

Tom's coaching engagements utilize a dynamic and flexible approach depending on the client's needs and challenges. Tom emphasizes the need to have the client and client's manager define coaching goals as they relate to current leadership challenges and future leadership requirements.

Specific goals, objectives, and coaching calendar are then established with the client and their manager. Typically the coaching process utilizes 360 assessment and feedback and tailored diagnostic behavioral assessments to establish the database for the coaching process.

Coaching typically extends for a six month period of regularly scheduled meetings, beginning with goal setting and three way meeting with client, client's manager, and coach to review goals and establish objectives. As the coaching proceeds, periodic milestone meetings with the client and the client's manager are scheduled for progress reviews and goal adjustment.

At the end of the coaching period, the client summarizes their progress and attainment of established goals and builds a 1 year development plan. Coaching clients are encouraged to integrate their development plan into the company's performance management and development system. This ensures that development objectives support the overall performance plan and that both leadership performance and business results are reviewed and rewarded.

Coaching services also includes the opportunity for the client to extend the coaching engagement following the 6 month formal coaching period. This opportunity is made available for up to one year from the start of the coaching engagement.
